Welcome to the Archive

We are excited to bring you into the SfAA podcast archives! This has been the next big evolution of the SfAA Podcast project where we work to bring the SfAA experience to the global population of anthropologists and anthro-curious.

The SfAA Podcast Project originated from a conversation at the 2005 Annual Meeting in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where a student was debating which panel to attend. Her then-boyfriend suggested listening to a recording of one of the panels afterwards, but SfAA did not offer recordings at that time.

The following year, the student discussed the idea with her advisor, who supported it and helped pitch it to the SfAA Executive Director. With their support, the student managed to podcast her first seven sessions in 2007 with the help of two friends.

Since then, the Podcast Project has expanded its core team and offered annual meeting attendance to volunteers. The project has also built a global following, with its podcasts being used worldwide.
